Sarah Palins Failed Candidacy

This is something we have thought about, and not wanted to write. But like Barney Frank in a cucumber field, we have sat on this for too long. On the eve of an historic inauguration we have to look back to how we reached this point. And unfortunately this falls in the lap of Sarah Palin. Throughout the campaign we watched and heard as the media covered the breathtaking candidacy of Barack Obama. He never wavered or faltered. He was, in retrospect, the perfect candidate. In this article we will compare his character and accomplishments with that of Gov. Palin. It's not pretty.

Let us cut to the chase right away. It was obvious from the very beginning that Palin had a huge flaw. One might even call it fatal. This is a woman who lived in Alaska for over 40 years and was never once friends with a terrorist. Never once!
What was she thinking? This does not fall squarely on her shoulders, however.

The GOP operatives in the McCain campaign are at fault for this as well. They must have known she didn't start her career in the house of a "radical." So what do they do? Nothing at all. You cant tell me there isn't some washed up terrorist somewhere they couldnt have paid off to say they were friends with Palin. Someone who's smart, went to an ivy league college, and later went to be a professor. Someone like this guy:

Thats right, Ted Kazinsky. You just know this crazy bastard was sitting in his cell waiting for a phone call and a chance to swing the election. It would've been the "game changer" everyone was waiting for. Just think of the press coverage. Palin was mentored by a Harvard educated man who went on to become a respected professor. David Brooks would've wet himself in excitement if he had known this. Sure he bombed, but it was a volatile time and he was just looking for change.

That was the biggest mistake but unfortunately it was not the last. Palin only held rallies in US cities and towns. She never gave a speech in Berlin while running for office in America, like Obama. Sure it was like the volleyball scene in Top Gun, awkward and completely unnecessary, but the press ate it up.

Then there were some more painful moments. She apparently knew there were 50 states in America (damn), FDR wasn't President in 1929 (ouch), and that TV wasn't there to broadcast his supposed speech to the nation (enough). It was a mismatch from the beginning.

I dont even want to get started on the debate. Didn't the McCain campaign give her the memo on how you're supposed to lose and look disinterested like McCain? She goes out and does the exact opposite.

If she has any thought of running in 2012 she has to overcome those obstacles. And somebody please get Kazinsky on the phone.

Part 2 to deal with how she didnt buy her house with the help of a convicted felon and also how she actually ran against her opponenents rather than getting them thrown off the ballot. I know, its crazy.

  3. So, being married to a secessionist doesn't qualify as being friends with a terrorist?

And charging Alaskans for letting her work from home instead of living in the Governor's mansion doesn't line up with the Obama's housing "scandal" for you?

You conservatives are going to really hate the next 4 - 8 years.

    Well, it's your turn.

  5. The AIP is a recognized party in Alaska. You people need to do some reading.

Quebec had been trying to secede from Canada for years. It's now a "nation" within Canada. Are you people suggesting that all Quebecers are terrorists? Or they can't be prime minister? That's just crazy.
