Obama's safety net: the TelePrompter

Politico- Obama’s reliance on the teleprompter is unusual — not only because he is famous for his oratory, but because no other president has used one so consistently and at so many events, large and small.

After the teleprompter malfunctioned a few times last summer and Obama delivered some less-than-soaring speeches, reports surfaced that he was training to wean himself off of the device while on vacation in Hawaii. But no such luck.

Hopefully this puts an end to one of the many myths about Obama, that he is a great speaker. He is a terrible speaker. He is a great reader. If you want someone to read you a bed time story, Obama is your man. If Hooked on Phonics needs a new spokesman, I would recommend Barack. But if you want a President who can put thoughts together on his own and articulate them, Obama is a complete disaster. This is the biggest empty suit to hold any job...ever. Myth #2 goes out the window right there. That he is somehow this brilliant man. He's a moron. The guy needs a teleprompter to repeat the same small talking points that he has been saying for months in a row. This is like a 14 yr old still using training wheels on a bike. I'm actually a little embarrassed for him.

So to all the milquetoast Republicans out there, you no longer have to preface your statements by saying how brilliant or how great a speaker Obama is, because he is far from either of those.
