There is a big showdown currently taking place in Washington, D.C regarding the top secret CIA memos. Obamas own CIA director, as well as the 4 previous CIA directors advised against the release, stating it would only help the enemy and expose this country. So naturally, Obama released the memos.
Not only did he release the memos, but he suggested that the practices spelled out in them didn't work. In jumps Cheney, who on Sean Hannitys show last night, basically called bullshit. He said not only did they work, but he has seen the memos that show they worked. He has now called on Obama to declassify those memos to give the country the full and accurate picture of what took place.
These are two distinctly different views of what happened. The good thing is only one of them is right. Either the memos say the interrogation methods were successful, or they don't. So who's going to blink first, Obama or Cheney. Either way, we havent seen a game of chicken with this much on the line since the mid 80's.
If the release of these memos somehow comes down to a game of tractor chicken, I've got Cheney in a landslide. Who ya got?
